The Bugo launches new product
The Bugo – a safe, cost efficient, easy to use, effective way to protect people from bed bugs – has developed a new product The Bugo Tape, which will be launching at PLMA’s 2016 Private Label Trade Show in Chicago on 13 – 15 November 2016.
The Bugo was launched in early 2015 – a safe and simple to use adhesive disc shaped device that lasts up to 8 weeks, is virtually invisible and acts as a barrier against bed bugs and as a detector to infestations. The Bugo Disc sticks on the floor around the bottom of the bed legs to prevent these unwanted crawling insects from getting into the bed.
Bed bugs live in homes, hotels, cinemas, caravans, student accommodation and offices. They are great hitchhikers and are well known to travel in suitcases or clothes. Recent studies have shown a global increase in bed bugs and have attributed it to the rise in international travel and an increased resistance to pesticides. Bed bugs love to feed on human blood and when they bite, they don’t just do it once! Sometimes you can find a line or a random cluster of bites that can turn into itchy red bumps and rashes that last for days; some people may have allergic reactions or develop secondary skin infections from scratching the bites. Other manifestations are psychological rather than physical, such as insomnia or sleeplessness, anxiety or increased nervousness, obsessive behaviour and personal dysfunction.
But, what about the people who have floor beds or beds with no legs that want to use The Bugo?
It was back to the drawing board and a solution was developed… The Bugo Tape.
Each packet of The Bugo Tape will be available in rolls of 10mtr/32,8ft, which is enough for one application around a king size bed. Like the original Bugo Discs, it will act as a barrier against bed bugs and as a detector to infestations. It is virtually invisible, lasts up to 8 weeks and uses no pesticides or harmful chemicals so is safe to use in homes with pets and young children. It is simple to apply, remove and discard, and it doesn’t have any unpleasant smells or substances. It is available in soft floor application for surfaces such as carpets and rugs, or hard floor application for surfaces such as floor boards and tiles.
“We are expecting The Bugo Tape to be hitting the shops early in 2017. We’ve had a lot of interest so far from distributors and expect more orders from the PLMA 2016 show in America. Bed bugs infestations are on the increase across the world and have been reported in every State in the USA and an estimated 1 out of 5 Americans either has had a bed bug infestation in their home or knows someone who has encountered them*.” Says Sarah Brunskill, Operations Manager, The Bugo. “Also, 95% of Pest Control Professionals have found bed bugs in apartments, 93% in houses and 75% in hotels*.” Continues Sarah.
The Bugo is available through our distributors, which can be found www.thebugo.co.uk/where-to-buy. To become a distributor, contact Sarah Brunskill, Operations Manager, The Bugo on +44 1274 466666 or info@TheBugo.co.uk.
The Bugo will be at stand number H1112, located in the Home & Health Section in South Hall of PLMA 2016 Private Label Trade Show; Chicago, 13 – 15 November 2016. The Bugo team will be at hand to demonstrate the product and provide more information on distribution on Bugo branded and dual branded products.
